Hello Carassauga friends. Today, Cooking With Carassauga brings you a recipe inspired by Lebanon with a demonstration of how to make Hreesi. A traditional rich and healthy wheat and meat dish. This dish is a well-known common dish served at traditional weddings and big feasts. It's also considered a nutritious winter dish that adds warmth and energy to the body. Here is the recipe below for you to try and let us know how your Lebanese Hreesi turned out. Ingredients: • 1 kg beef with bones • 1 kg (or 1 bag of 907 g) pearl or soft wheat • 3 litres of water • 3 tsp ground cinnamon to taste. • 2 tsp all spice pepper • 3 tsp salt Directions 1. Place the meat in a bowl with the bones, cover with water, bring to a boil. 2. Then discard the water and rinse the meat. 3. Add rinsed meat in a large bowl, add the wheat and water. 4. Place on the stove, heat on high to bring to a boil. 5. Once its boiled, reduce the heat to medium, cover and cook for 6 hrs. 6. At the 3-hr mark, stir the ingredients. 7. After the 6-hr, remove the bones. 8. Add all the spices and mix. 9. Leave some of the cinnamon to top the plate. 10. Plate and Enjoy.
