Hi I'm Ramona, I'm a Lebanese living in the States. I have a PhD in Physics, a Master's in Molecular Chemistry and I am currently doing a postdoc in Chemical engineering. Even though I do science for living, cooking remains my real passion. I am married to a Puerto Rican and have also lived in France for a large part of my life. Getting exposed to different cultures not only expanded my palettes but also made me appreciate my native cuisine more. Nothing beats the look on my friends' faces when they taste Lebanese food for the first time. I made this channel to help them and hopefully you appreciate the wonderful flavors of my country. This is my first video and I chose tabouli as the first dish to prepare because it's not only our national dish but also a favorite for every friend of mine no matter their origin. It's a vegan salad that is very close to my heart because it brings me back to our family gatherings on our patio in mount Lebanon on hot summer days. I hope it will bring you as much happiness as it brings me. **Ingredients: -2 packs (bunches) of Italian parsley. -6 medium Roma tomatoes (preferably hard) -1 small sweet yellow onion ( or half a medium one) -juice of two small or 1 big lemon -1/3 cup of olive oil -1 to 1.5 tsp of salt or more to taste. - Optional: a few mint leaves cut the same way as the parsley. -1/4 cup of finely ground bulgur ( Mediterranean grain that can be found in whole foods). You can also get it from Amazon here's the link: https://amzn.to/38jh0eq Oh Did I mention? you can skip the bulgur altogether and this salad becomes gluten-free too! Enjoy and sahtein (our Lebanese version of bon appetit!)
